Language
Use the lowest score across listening, reading, writing and speaking for each language test. Alberta awards the higher general-language points between English and French, plus 3 bilingual points if both are CLB/NCLC 4 or higher.

Work Experience
If you have qualifying experience both in Alberta and elsewhere in Canada, the higher Alberta score applies.
Age & Family Connection in Alberta
The family member must live in Alberta, be age 18+ and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. In-laws do not qualify.
Alberta Job Offer & Economic Factors
Points require an Alberta job offer in the regulated occupation and recognized certification/licensure. Regulated trades require a valid Alberta Qualification Certificate or a trade certificate recognized by Alberta AIT.
