PEI uses employer-driven Workforce streams, PEI Express Entry and a business Work Permit Stream to nominate candidates who can help meet the province's economic and labour-market needs.

EOISelection begins with an Expression of Interest for applicable PEI PNP pathways.

Current selection focus: PEI is prioritizing workers in higher-demand sectors such as healthcare, trades, manufacturing and other key industries facing labour shortages. Candidates in sales and service occupations may not receive an invitation at this time.

Current Worker Pathways

Skilled Worker in PEI

For eligible workers currently employed by a PEI employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation.

Skilled Worker Outside Canada

For eligible overseas recruitment where the PEI employer first receives provincial authorization.

Critical Worker

For eligible workers currently working full-time in PEI in qualifying TEER 4 or 5 positions.

International Graduate

For eligible graduates of publicly funded PEI post-secondary institutions with a qualifying Island employer.

Intermediate Experience

Employer-supported recruitment pathway that may be used with prior authorization from the PEI Office of Immigration.

Occupations in Demand

Employer-supported recruitment for selected in-demand occupations, subject to provincial authorization and current criteria.

PEI Express Entry

For candidates already eligible for a federal Express Entry program who meet PEI's current selection priorities.

Business Work Permit Stream

For eligible entrepreneurs who plan to invest in and actively operate a business in Prince Edward Island.
