Before relying on a CIP match
A matching CIP code is not a complete PGWP assessment
Confirm the code with the school
Ask the institution for the program’s official CIP 2021 code. Similar program names can have different codes.
Confirm DLI and program PGWP status
The program must be at a PGWP-eligible DLI/program and you must satisfy the other program rules.
Language requirements can also apply
Current PGWP rules include language requirements based on credential type, in addition to field-of-study rules where applicable.
Timing can change the field rule
The date of your study permit application and your credential type can determine whether the field-of-study requirement applies.
