Canada is on India's current eVisa eligibility list. A Canadian passport holder travelling for tourism can review the official e-Tourist Visa route or choose a regular visa where appropriate.
Online Route
India eVisa: a fully online government process
The official Indian Visa Online portal currently lists Canada as an eligible nationality for eVisa and provides several electronic visa categories.

Multiple-entry validity for one year from the date of grant, subject to the current permitted-stay rules.

5-Year Tourist eVisa
Multiple-entry validity for five years. Current official guidance limits total stay in India to 180 days in a calendar year for the 1-year and 5-year tourist eVisas.
Official eVisa basics: the passport should generally have at least six months validity when applying, the traveller should have onward/return travel and sufficient funds, and the eVisa application uses an online photo and passport-page upload. Confirm the exact category before applying.
Regular / Paper Visa
Some applicants need or prefer a regular visa through the Indian mission/BLS process
When a regular visa may be relevant
- The traveller is not eligible for eVisa
- The purpose or circumstances require a regular visa category
- The traveller has Pakistani nationality/origin and must follow the regular route
- An Indian mission or official instruction directs the applicant to the paper process
Current B.C. submission note
For applicants using the Vancouver BLS jurisdiction, BLS currently states that regular visa applications must be submitted in person because biometrics are required for visa categories and postal visa applications are not accepted. This operational rule can change, so it must be rechecked before attendance.
No false “express visa” promise: the Government of India warns that it does not authorize agents or intermediaries to charge emergency or express eVisa fees. SIA can help with preparation and document organization, but visa issuance, official fees, biometrics and processing remain with the Government of India/BLS process.

The official Indian Visa Online portal currently states that foreign nationals and OCI/eOCI cardholders can complete the e-Arrival card online within 72 hours before arrival. It is an arrival-information form—not a visa and not a substitute for a valid visa/eVisa/OCI travel document.
