The Manitoba Business Investor Stream (BIS) is for qualified entrepreneurs and farm investors who intend to establish, purchase or actively operate an eligible business in Manitoba.

Entrepreneur Pathway

$500,000minimum personal net worth

CLB/NCLC 5minimum language level

$250,000minimum investment in Winnipeg Metropolitan Region

$150,000minimum investment outside Winnipeg Metropolitan Region

At least 3 years of full-time business-owner or senior-management experience in the past 5 years.
Minimum education equivalent to a Canadian high school credential.
Business owners need qualifying ownership to receive business-owner points.
The proposed eligible business must create or maintain at least one job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, excluding the owner and close relatives.
A business plan and Business Performance Agreement form part of the process.

Farm Investor Pathway

$500,000minimum personal net worth

$300,000minimum farm investment in rural Manitoba

At least 3 years of farm ownership and operation experience.
Applicants must have practical farming skills and experience transferable to Manitoba's primary farm production industry.
A qualifying farm business research visit is part of the current pathway process.
The applicant must intend to live in Manitoba and actively manage the farm operation.

Current Business Investor intake note: Manitoba states that regular Business Investor EOI draws are not currently being conducted. EOIs are being reviewed individually under the current process. This status can change and should be rechecked before filing.

Application process: the Business Investor Stream uses its own EOI/application process, separate from the standard Skilled Worker MPNP Online process. The current provincial Business Investor application fee is $2,500 CAD and is non-refundable.
