Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) nominates eligible workers and entrepreneurs who can support Alberta's economy and intend to live permanently in the province.
The former Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) was renamed AAIP in 2022. The old AINP name should no longer be presented as the current program.
Current AAIP Worker Streams
Alberta Opportunity Stream
For qualifying temporary foreign workers already living and working full-time in Alberta with an eligible Alberta job offer.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
For selected candidates with an active federal Express Entry profile. Dedicated pathways include eligible health-care professionals, technology workers and police occupations.
Rural Renewal Stream
For qualifying workers recruited and endorsed by a designated rural Alberta community.
Tourism & Hospitality Stream
For qualifying workers already employed in Alberta's eligible tourism and hospitality sector with a full-time job offer from an eligible employer.
Worker Expression of Interest (WEOI)
AAIP worker streams use a Worker Expression of Interest system. Candidates submit a WEOI, receive a score and enter a pool. Alberta selects candidates according to scores, labour-market needs, available nominations and provincial priorities.
Entrepreneur Streams
Rural Entrepreneur Stream
For entrepreneurs starting or buying a business in a participating rural Alberta community.
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
For eligible graduates of approved Alberta post-secondary institutions who want to establish or operate a business.
Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
For qualifying foreign-educated graduates who want to launch an innovative business in Alberta through the designated-agency process.
Farm Stream
For experienced farmers who plan to buy or establish an eligible farming business in Alberta.
