Express Entry Lower Scores for Trades in New Targeted Selection

Express Entry New targeted Selection by Category requires lower score for invitation- Trades targeted occupations.

In the category-based rounds of invitations, eligible candidates within the Express Entry pool are extended invitations based on specific categories established by the Minister, aligning with defined economic objectives. These invitations offer candidates the opportunity to apply for permanent residence, taking into account various criteria including:

- Proficiency in a designated official language
- Relevant work experience in a specified occupation
- Educational background

Furthermore, the categories often include candidates with skills and experience in specific categories, one example of such categories is trades skills that are crucial for meeting Canadian economic goals. 

First trades draw happened at a score of 388 on August 03 , 2023.

- Residential and commercial installers and servicers (NOC Code 73200)
- Elevator constructors and mechanics (NOC Code 72406)
- Machine fitters (NOC Code 72405)
- Heating, refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics (NOC Code 72402)
- Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics (NOC Code 72400)
- Carpenters (NOC Code 72310)m
- Plumbers (NOC Code 72300)
- Electricians (except industrial and power system) (NOC Code 72200)
- Welders and related machine operators (NOC Code 72106)
- Contractors and supervisors, other construction trades, installers, repairers and servicers (NOC Code 72014)
