What You Need to Know:
Effective June 25, 2025, IRCC revised PGWP eligibility based on Express Entry labour priorities:
- 119 fields added — Focus on healthcare, skilled trades, education
- 178 fields removed — Especially from non-degree programs
- 920 programs now eligible
July 4, 2025 Update: Some previously removed fields are temporarily reinstated.
If you applied for a study permit between June 25 and July 4, your program still qualifies—until the next update in early 2026.
Who’s Affected?
- Non-degree program students who applied on or after Nov 1, 2024
- If you applied before June 25 or between June 25–July 4, you're still eligible
- Degree program students (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) — Not affected
